St Johnstone
McDiarmid Park
|
St Johnstone were promoted to the SPL in 2009 under the management of former Ger, Derek McInnes. He has proven himself to be a decent manager and could be an outsider for the Rangers job when Walter Smith leaves. His team are currently just outside the top six.
What To Expect
A tight stadium. Nothing special but nothing inspiring either.
Stadium
McDiarmid Park was built in 1989, has four singled tiered stands, all seated. The stands are all the same size apart from the main.
Rangers Records
- Record Attendence 10,721; St Johnstone-Rangers, 1990
- Not one to be proud of, St. Johnstone's 2-0 victory over us at Ibrox under Paul Le Guen was the first time we had been knocked out of cup competition at home by a lower division club in our entire history.
- St Johnstone's 4-1 win in 2010 was their biggest win over us. It was also the first time they'd scored 4 goals in a competitive game against Rangers.
How To Get To
Follow the A9 towards Perth and then on reaching Perth continue on the A9 towards Inverness. You will see the ground on your right and at the next roundabout you need to turn back on yourself and then take the slip road to the ground
Pubs
The nearest boozer is the 208 Bar, Crieff Road about 250 yards away from the ground. The bar is usually populated by home and away supporters.
